This website is delivered to you by Hydro Building Systems UK Ltd, Severn Drive, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, GL20 8SF. Hydro Building Systems UK Ltd is one of five business areas in the Hydro corporation, but we will in short use 'Hydro' subject to this policy.

Hydro is the Controller for the processing of personal data on this website ('site'). Hydro respects your privacy and will process any personal data according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This site is managed on Hydro's behalf by Episerver DXC.

This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it, as well as your choices regarding use, access and correction of personal information.

The parent company Norsk Hydro ASA has established Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) that apply to all Hydro legal entities, providing a legal basis for the transfer of personal data within the Hydro Group. You can read the BCR here.


When visiting the Site, some general identifiable information is retained and processed by Hydro. This includes your IP address, which we use to identify the country you are originating from, and to suggest a preferred language. If you submit information into contact fields, provide comments, or log in to sections on the Site, any personal data that you voluntarily provide will be processed by Hydro and/or its affiliates depending on which Hydro part of the website you are visiting. We may also collect or create aggregated or anonymous data from usage activity on our Site, to help us better understand and improve the site features and functionality.

We do not store data longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the personal data was collected.


We process the personal data collected from the Site for the following purposes:

  • To provide the Site to you and deliver any services requested by you, and to continuously improve the Site by analysing traffic and usage on various sections of the Site
  • To send you email newsletters and other marketing information if you have requested this or given your consent. You can unsubscribe or opt-out of receiving this information from us at any time
  • If you have submitted a contact form, your personal information will be used to answer your specific request
  • If you log into the Technal Library, this information will be processed by our integration provider SEEBURGER, to communicate with you through your account, respond to any questions and requests, or other services provided through your account.


i. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file or other persistent files that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the Site. This enables the Site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language and display preferences) over time, so you do not have to re-enter them when you browse from one page to another or whenever you come back to re-visit the Site. We may also use cookies to learn the websites you visited immediately before or after you visited our Site.

We use cookies to save your settings on country and language and to identify your user sessions and user ID. Thanks to this, you will be recognised the next time you visit the Site and won't have to enter all of your details again if any. In a nutshell, cookies customise your website experience.

ii. Other tracking technologies

Third-party cookies are installed by third parties to collect information to research behavior, demographics and user journeys. These applications help businesses and website owners with analysing traffic on their websites and applications, but also provide information from other websites that are linked to these applications. By doing so, we are better at understanding your interests so that we can provide you with better information when you are visiting our Site.

Our website sets the following types of tracking on your computer:

New Relic

New Relic's digital intelligence platform allows developers and technical teams to measure and monitor the performance of applications and infrastructure. This tracks error logs, environment measurement and other technical information like track use, info statistics on Page Views, Browsers and Geography.

New Relic is part of the DXC Service. This is the same services as SendGrid (Transactional Email-as-a-service). CloudFlare (Cache and Firewall-as-a-service). You will find more information about New Relic here.

Google Analytics

A Google Analytics tracking code is connected to our website. This helps us to understand and analyse the traffic to the Site, as well as how users move through their online journey.

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is used for tracking which pages IP addresses visits and time spent on each page. This is also used for tracking activities provided by the IP address such as videos played, forms submitted and movement around the Site. All data is anonymised before being sent to Google Analytics, which reports the data tracked by Google Tag Manager.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is used to monitor the site performance and sends information about search queries to Google Analytics. 

All data is aggregated, and no data tracked by Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, or any data reported in Google Analytics is connected to the personal information from users, just the IP address.

Pardot Tracking Script

A Pardot tracking script is added to our website which tracks visitors' IP addresses to identify page views and time spent on page. Data tracked is the IP address only, unless you proactively identify yourself through a form or by interacting with any emails sent to you from this service. It is only when consent via the form has been given through a form and where personal details have been provided by you, that we will see your email address and other information you have given. This information is stored through Pardot. We track information through this third-party service is so we can provide visitors with information especially relevant to them, in cases where they have given their consent to this use.

Facebook Pixel Code:

The Facebook Pixel is an analytics tool that allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements by understanding the actions visitors take on our website. We use pixel data to:

  • Make sure our adverts are being shown to those that wish to see them 
  • Build an advertising audience
  • Unlock additional Facebook advertising tools

When someone visits our website and takes action (e.g logging in) the Facebook Pixel is triggered and reports this action. This way we will be able to reach out to that user again via Facebook advertising.

DoubleClick Floodlight Tag

Floodlight is a system DoubleClick Search (DS) and DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM) use to track and report conversions from Social Media Channels. A Floodlight tag is an iframe or image installed on a conversion page on the Site. When a user clicks the campaign in Social Media and lands on the conversion page, the tag sends data about the conversion to DS and DCM. The conversion data is stored in Floodlight activity where we can get reports and information on how different content and campaigns have performed based on the number of conversions.

HotJar Tracking

HotJar is a website tracking tool that allows us to measure user activity, giving Hydro an insight into how best to create, design and promote content in the interest of our users. HotJar uses a visitors' IP address to assess visits and time spent on each page. It is also used for tracking activities performed by the IP address like videos played, images viewed, forms submitted and navigation around the site. All data is anonymised, and is reviewed within HotJar. Some sessions are recorded to provide insight into website usage.


You can block or erase cookies at any time by using the settings in your browser. This may limit the functionality of your browser and cause the Site to perform incorrectly which will impair your experience. You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. You can delete all cookies already on your computer and set most browsers to prevent them from being placed in the future. If you do this, you may need to manually adjust some preferences each time you visit a website and some services and functionality may not work correctly. This Site does not respond to browser Do-Not-Track signals as we need location data to load the correct country site for visitors. 


When you contact us through our contact forms we may share your personal data with other Hydro entities to be able to respond to your request. 

While we may share aggregate or anonymous information as explained in section 4 ii) with others to illustrate trends, we will not share or sell your personal data with or to any unaffiliated parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share certain personal data with our service providers Episerver, Google Analytics, Pardot, Facebook or other business partners that help us to facilitate and improve the Site and our services. We and our service providers are contractually restricted to use and process the data solely for these purposes. 

We may also share your information if we in good faith assess it to be necessary to:

  • Protect our rights, property or safety
  • Comply with any Court Order or other legal processes
  • Respond to any governmental or regulatory requirements
  • In the event of a merger, transfer of assets or other corporate restructuring


Our Site is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If we discover a user under the age of 13 has provided us with personal data we will take appropriate steps to promptly delete this and remove it from our records. 


Hydro protects your personal information through technical and organisational security measures to help protect your personal information.


You are entitled to be informed of what personal data, if any, Hydro processes about you, upon request. You may also request that any excessive personal data we may happen to process is deleted or blocked, and request rectification of any wrongful personal data that we may process. You can also contact your national Data Protection Authority to lodge a complaint.

As noted above, we do not share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
